Leadership

Datuk Prof. Dr. Mohd Faiz Abdullah

Datuk Prof Dr Mohd Faiz serves as Chairman of ISIS Malaysia, leading policy development and Track-Two diplomacy through ASEAN-ISIS and PECC. He holds key international posts, including CSCAP Co-Chair and member of the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council on Good Governance. His diverse career spans three decades of legal practice (corporate and public interest litigation), strategic government advisory, and education. He is the founding dean of the Selangor Business School and has authored four books.

Research

Harris Zainul

Harris works at the intersection of technology, human rights, and democracy, with expertise in regulating large tech firms and addressing online harms. He has consulted with partners such as UNESCO, Google, and TikTok. His insights are regularly featured by the World Economic Forum, Financial Times, CNBC, and other global media. He holds an MA in International Studies and Diplomacy and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons).

Farlina Said

Farlina leads the institute’s Cyber and Technology Policy team, specializing in cybersecurity, cyber norms, and AI. She has implemented projects for partners like the National Cyber Security Agency and Microsoft, and represented Malaysia's views at the United Nations on responsible state behavior in cyberspace. She holds an MSc in Strategic Studies.

Calvin Cheng

Calvin leads the institute's Economics, Trade and Regional Integration division, specializing in labour markets, social protection, economic development, and policy design. He has consulted for federal and state governments, as well as international organizations including the World Bank and Google. His insights have been featured in publications like Asia Policy and media outlets such as Forbes and Nikkei Asia. He holds an MSc in Public Policy and a Bachelor of Economics.

Public affairs

Rachel Priya

Rachel leads the public affairs and partnerships strategy within the Chairman’s Office, leveraging extensive expertise in strategic communications and policy advocacy. She has successfully managed complex national transformation initiatives across Southeast Asia and Africa, including investment attraction and concession negotiations, demonstrating her skill in crafting compelling narratives for governments and businesses. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Social Sciences) with a double major in Economics and International Studies.

Project management

Nyoomi Kamani

Nyoomi is the Project Manager for the Centre for Responsible Technology (CERT), driving its mission to promote responsible technology through strategic project management and meaningful stakeholder engagement. Building on her experience in delivering transformation programmes, she has worked across Africa, the Caribbean, and Southeast Asia, managing initiatives in investment attraction focused on public-private alignment. She holds an MSc in Public Policy.

Strategic communications

Kristine Yap

Kristine manages strategic communications at ISIS Malaysia, ensuring a clear and consistent voice across platforms. Her public relations consulting experience includes developing campaigns for clients in the public sector, oil and gas industry, and a global technology conglomerate. She is skilled in managing communications and stakeholder engagement in both corporate and non-profit settings. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.
